Visual Communication Spotlight: “Reuse”

Us brand strategists are always droning on that "your brand is not your logo." But that doesn't mean we don't love a great logo!

Take this brilliant new "Reuse" symbol from Epigramastudio. The animation tells the story of what it means to reuse (a bold cycle of use, rinse, repeat) and what makes it especially compelling is how it resolves into the letter R.

I'm passionate about reuse, and I got to experience it firsthand recently at a SF Giants game: my cup was turned in, washed, and reused. A step in the right direction.

I truly believe this kind of clear visual communication can encourage behavior change — and I look forward to seeing it on more things.

More ballparks, stadiums, and concert venues are adopting reusable cup policies. Who else has experienced one? And what do you think of this visual branding?
